Red7 completes emergency helicopter riverbank repair

After recent flooding, the River Jubilee which is used as a flood relief channel for the main River Thames, unfortunately developed a river bank breach. With deteriorating conditions on the River Thames and River Jubilee unable to operate at full capacity as required due to risk of further collapse, Red7 were required to think outside of the box to provide a quick repair solution.

We first provided a commercial diving team, using our mobile dive system, to inspect the scour an ascertain the full void area. Red7 is very familiar with working on breached riverbanks, in 2024 Red7 installed over 250 rockbags using its specialist modular crane pontoon systems whilst working on flooded farmland. This repair required an immediate solution therefore Red7 supplied the specialist Helicopter and over 150t of rock bags within 1 week of the survey. Within 2 days of lifting, with help from Red7’s site support team which also included a dedicated safety boat for marine operatives, the riverbank was stabilised allowing the Jubilee to operate at full capacity without risk of any further breach or flooding on the River Thames.

We are much more than just divers!
