Red7 were contracted to conduct over 2500 metres of river bank stabilisation work to the relief channel on the River Steeping in Lincolnshire. In 2019 the relief channel witnessed a catastrophic failure to its banks, flooding more than 70 properties. Inaccessible by any other means than from the water course itself, Red7 was well placed to provide the solution. In addition, the river was particularly shallow therefore Red7’s NATO Pontoon Systems and unique shallow draft Push Boats provided the perfect access solution from which to carry out the repairs.
Repairs included careful dredging and removal from the watercourse of all reeds and aquatic vegetation impacting the repair work.
Red7 provided a fleet of 44 NATO Pontoons, 2 Specialist Push Boats, 3 Excavators and 8 Marine Operatives for this project. Red7 completed the work ahead of schedule over a six months period, allowing commencement of vital capital dredging operation to immediately take place.
